Welcome & breakfast
Arrival and a meal together at the table.
Now enrolling ยท Ages 3 to 5
A family of four earning up to $136,044 a year qualifies.
Three bright, play-filled hours a day, morning or afternoon. Your child can attend Joan Richards Preschool and keep their usual childcare place.

What a session looks like
Every session balances meals, movement, creative play, language and social learning.
Arrival and a meal together at the table.
Names, weather and the plan for the day.
Books, blocks, painting, water, letters and numbers.
Climbing, riding, running and digging.
A calm close to the session, then home.
Children learn through play here. A three-year-old sorting buttons is learning to count. A four-year-old waiting for a turn on the trike is learning to negotiate. The teachers plan every activity around how young children learn best.
The part parents do not expect
Your child can attend preschool for three hours and stay in their usual childcare for the rest of the day. Nothing about your existing arrangement changes, and it does not cost you more. It is not one or the other.
Eligibility
This is a state-funded program, so places are limited and there are a few rules. Three simple things decide it.
Places are for preschool-age children who have not started kindergarten.
The limit rises with family size. Check yours below - it takes a second.
Choose a morning or afternoon session at Barbados Circle.
Nothing is submitted or stored.
What is included
Provided daily through the USDA Child Care Food Program. Nothing to pack and nothing to pay.
